World Mission Sunday, Oct. 18th
As we prepare for Mission Sunday on October 18th, we would like to prepare and explain to our Church the history of this celebration.
In 1926, Pope Pius XI instituted Mission Sunday for the whole Church with the first worldwide Mission Sunday collection taking place in October of 1927.
The Mission Sunday collection is always taken on the next to last Sunday during the month of October. That day is celebrated in all the local Churches as the Feast of Catholicity and Universal Solidarity. Christians, the world over, will recognize their common responsibility with regards to evangelization of the word.

Mission Sunday for this year is Sunday October 18th. We are invited to give a little more than we usually do. The Vatican will use the collection of this day for the formation of seminarians, to support female and male religious, to support the Catechists in rural zones, to build churches in villages, and support missionaries sent to foreign countries. Please, as we start our month, consider putting aside your money in a way to have a substantial amount to give on the on Mission Sunday 2020. Donations can be made during the second collection on October 18th or online HERE.
God bless us all!
