Feeding Our Community

The Food Pantry is Open!

The Food Pantry at Saint Joseph of the Holy Family was established in 1877.  It is one of the oldest operating food pantries in New York City, serving groceries to an average of 500 families per month.  We provide groceries to those in need twice a month.

Groceries include canned goods, pasta, rice, dry beans, cereal/oatmeal, milk, fresh fruits and vegetables, and other healthy options.  Clients can select their choice of items and are asked to bring their own bags or small shopping cart when possible.  Each household receives groceries based on the amount of people living in that household.

We are open every other Saturday. Upcoming dates are: Saturday, January 21, 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, February 4,  8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and February 18,  8:00AM to 11:00AM.

Saint Joseph of the Holy Family Food Pantry is available to anyone in need without regard to race, national origins, religious affiliation, sex, disability, immigration status, or sexual orientation.  On the client’s first visit to our pantry, they are registered and will receive a personalized pantry card to be presented on future visits.

The Food Pantry is run completely by volunteers. We rely on donations of food and money to keep St. Joseph of the Holy Family Food Pantry running. For more information on how you can help by volunteering your time or donating.
